The real truth behind making money online

Everybody is enticed by the idea of making easy money online. Unfortunately it's not as easy as everyone thinks it is, or everyone with a computer and access to the Internet would be a millionaire. I get hundreds of emails a day sent to my junk folder telling me how simple it is to make hundreds or even thousands of dollars a day just for sitting at my computer, if only it were true. I will have to sheepishly admit that i have wasted a few hundred dollars on some of these get rich quick schemes, i lost every penny that i invested, but i did learn one thing. Any site that charges you a membership fee is a scam.

You should never have to pay money to make money online.

There are a few legitimate sites that you can make a few extra dollars a month with, but nothing that is going to let you quit your job. I use the money for the frivolous things that normally i wouldn't be able to warrant spending a lot of money on, right now i am saving up for a PS3.
I only use the sites that pay out in cash, usually through paypal, gift cards and sweepstakes entries are nice for some people but i like cold hard cash.
One of my favorite sites is LightSpeedPanel.com. This is one of the first survey sites that i signed up with, and is definitely one of the best. They deal strictly with surveys, none of that signing up for a free trial bull, and you get at least 3 to 4 surveys a week, which can range anywhere from one dollar to ten dollars per survey. The payout for this site is definitely one of the best around, you only need to have five dollars built up to request a paypal payout, so there's no waiting till the end of the month or until you get to some hard to reach amount. The only downside to this site is that there is no referral program, so that means no making money off of other people. But it is definitely worth signing up for.
Another favorite site of mine is SendEarnings.com. This site has various ways that you can earn money, from reading emails, to taking surveys, to checking out customer offers. You can even make money from shopping online and playing games online. The payout amount is 30 dollars but with the five dollar bonus just for signing up, and the five dollars bonuses for every referral it won't take long at all to reach that 30 dollars.
If you are going to sign up for Sendearnings, you might as well also sign up for Inboxdollars.com, this is the sister sight to Sendearnings.com and is run almost exactly the same way. With this site you also get a five dollar bonus for signing up and five dollar bonuses for all of your referrals.
If you enjoy reading emails than Hits4Pay.com is a great site to check out. Again it's not a real money maker, you only get two cents per email read, and one cent for each email your referrals read, but that does add up after a while and there is a nice ten dollar sign up bonus.

If you enjoy doing the little cash offers on some of these websites then i would suggest you check out Cashcrate.com. They also have one of the best referral programs that i have seen so far. You get 20% of what ever your referrals make and a three dollar bonus whenever your referrals meet the ten dollar cash out amount. If you are good at getting referrals you can pretty much just set this one on autopilot and let your referrals do all the work for you.

There's even a site for the gamer enthusiasts, Rewards1.com. Here you can earn points by checking out offers and referring friends. This site does take a while to build up your points, unless you are really good at referring people, but there are some really nice prizes at the end of the tunnel. Like an Xbox360, Nintendo Wii, or the prize that i am working for a PS3.
